The year 1924 secured a unique place in history for the Republic of Türkiye, as it took bold steps toward modernization as a young state. The reforms introduced during this period paved the way for profound political, social, and cultural transformation.

As an institution that bore witness to this transformative era, Anadolu Ajansı has upheld its mission of being Türkiye’s voice both nationally and internationally. Since its establishment in 1920, the Agency has not only reported the news but also served as a custodian of history—preserving records and publications that help interpret the past and transmit key developments to future generations.

Prepared in line with this mission, Almanac 1924 offers a comprehensive panorama of the Republic’s formative years. It presents in chronological order major events in Türkiye—such as the abolition of the Caliphate, the adoption of the Law on the Unification of Education, the Mosul dispute, the founding of the Progressive Republican Party, and the population exchange—as well as key developments on the global stage.

Drawing on primary sources and the rich archives of Anadolu Ajansı, the book is richly illustrated and designed thematically to reflect the spirit of the time.
