October 2026

₺200

Anadolu’s Turkish-language monthly analytical magazine AA Brifing has released its October issue.

Offering field-driven, data-based, and analytical coverage of the most critical items on the global agenda, the new issue features comprehensive dossiers on a wide range of subjects, from the Israeli elections and Benjamin Netanyahu’s political future to US-Iran tensions and the rise of the far right in Europe.

Bringing together dynamics in foreign policy, security, economics, technology, the environment, and social transformation through expert analysis, special reports, original commentary, and powerful infographics, AA Brifing presents complex global developments in a clear, comprehensive, and multidimensional framework.

With each issue, the magazine aims to serve as a trusted reference for decision-makers, academics, researchers, media professionals, and readers who closely follow global change. Rather than simply reporting the agenda, it examines the background, implications, and possible future scenarios behind key developments.

Cover Dossier: Israeli Elections and Regional Repercussions

The October cover dossier focuses on the elections scheduled to be held in Israel on October 27, examining the potential changes they may bring and their regional implications.

The dossier explores whether the elections may produce a shift in Israeli politics, Netanyahu’s politics of “perpetual enemy,” and changing attitudes toward Israel in Western public opinion. It also analyzes the difficulties Israel faces in using its military capacity to build a regional order favorable to itself, while assessing Türkiye’s positional advantage and the growing asymmetry between the two countries that increasingly works in Ankara’s favor.

Special Dossier: Mavi Vatan [Blue Homeland]

Another major dossier in the new issue focuses on Mavi Vatan [Blue Homeland]. In his article, “Mavi Vatan: Sınır çizgisinden denizcilik vizyonuna” [“Blue Homeland: From Boundary Lines to a Maritime Vision”], Turkish Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu examines the concept of “Mavi Vatan” through the relationship between geography and capacity. Tatlıoğlu argues that maritime jurisdiction areas define the geographical framework of Türkiye’s rights and interests at sea, while naval power is one of the key instruments for transforming this potential into production, prosperity, and security.

Assoc. Prof. Altuğ Günal of Ege University examines the changing security balance in the Aegean through the militarization of islands, the 12-nautical-mile dispute, and maritime jurisdiction areas. Assoc. Prof. Nikolas Kosmatopoulos of the American University of Beirut focuses on Greece’s relations with Israel, assessing Tel Aviv’s efforts to reposition the Aegean and Cyprus as a secondary line of conflict from which it could gain tactical advantage, as well as Greece’s political and military capacity within this equation.

Global Security and International Politics

In his article, “ABD-İran geriliminde ‘belirsizlik’ nereye evrilir?” [“Where Is the ‘Uncertainty’ in US-Iran Tensions Heading?”], Assoc. Prof. Serhan Afacan, President of IRAM, questions the assumption that limited clashes will inevitably turn into a new, large-scale war. The issue also examines the economic and political effects of renewed US sanctions on Iran, as well as the implications of changes in Russia’s nuclear doctrine, the prolongation of the war, and Ukraine’s expanding capacity to strike deep inside Russian territory for nuclear deterrence.

The October issue of AA Brifing also features a comprehensive dossier and infographic on the rise of the far right in Europe. It assesses, through different scenarios, the possible consequences of the growing influence of far-right parties in European politics for the European Union’s institutional structure, political balance, and future.

The magazine also includes assessments by leading international figures. Former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Prof. Hilal Elver and former UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine and President of the Gaza Tribunal Prof. Richard Falk examine the United Nations system and the crisis in global governance through the lens of what is happening in Gaza.

Environment, Technology, and Society

Beyond foreign policy and security, the October issue also features notable content on the environment, technology, and social transformation. Prof. Çağan Hakkı Şekercioğlu of the University of Utah and Koç University explores the delicate balance between tourism, nature conservation, and human activity in his article, “Doğayı bozmadan keşfetmek mümkün mü?” [“Is It Possible to Explore Nature Without Destroying It?”].

The issue also examines technological and social transformations ranging from the latest developments in artificial intelligence to social media use. Meanwhile, “Kahvenin öteki yüzü: Üretim, gelir ve etik tüketim” [“The Other Side of Coffee: Production, Revenue, and Ethical Consumption”] looks at the production and consumption chain of the global coffee industry, while developments along the US-Mexico border are analyzed through their political, social, and security dimensions.

With its October issue, AA Brifing offers rich, multilayered content for readers who want not only to follow current developments, but also to understand their background, causes, consequences, and possible future implications.

AA Brifing is available through aakitap.com.tr, as well as select bookstores and sales outlets across Türkiye.
